Apostles Sal & Kenia Sabino

Up to the mid 80’s Sal Sabino lost his youth on the streets of Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. From an early age he was heavily involved in drug trafficking and many other malicious crimes and was jailed and sentenced to prison multiple times. During his third prison sentence this hard talking, drug pushing and often violent criminal had a life-changing, spiritual experience and a new man emerged into society. Today, Sal is dedicating his time, energy and life to the rescue of men and women from the current epidemic of drugs, violence and crime.

Sal Sabino was born in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, moved to America and he became an adult on the streets of New York City. During his third and final prison incarceration, he had an encounter with the Lord Jesus that changed his life forever. Pastor Sal is now a leader and counselor for dozens ex-gang members from the Latin Kings, Zulu Nation, Latin Republic, the Bloods and other notorious gangs of New York City. He has also shared his testimony in many arenas from coast to coast in North and South America, Madison Square Garden, Irish Coliseum, Tetelo Vargas Stadium in his home town, San Pedro de Macoris, and numerous times at the United Palace Theatre at the heart of Washington Heights; mayor area of his criminal past. His ministry sponsors a local New York City food pantry that distributes hundreds of pounds of food to the needy each day. His ministry has also funded and distributed food, clothes and medicine among the poor in the Dominican Republic and Africa. Pastor Sal obtained an Associate Degree in Humanities at Dutchess Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts at Berean Bible College. Most recently Pastor Sabino received a Doctorate in Divinity from the River Bible Institute, in Tampa, FL. He has written various books including “Células de Koinonía” (recently published by Vida/Zondervan Publishing) and “Two Ways: The life changing testimony of an ex drug dealer".

Sal Sabino and his wife Kenia are Senior Pastors of the Heavenly Vision Christian Center, a fast growing church in New York City, which celebrates five services every Sunday with an attendance of 1,500. Heavenly Vision also has extension churches in Long Island, NY & New England. They have also founded "The S.E.A.," an international evangelistic association to take the Gospel to the world and help the needy.

Pastors Sal and Kenia Sabino envision a metropolitan church totally restored and saturated with the power of the Holy Spirit. They see the church as a conquering army, taking the city by using its three mayor weapons of warfare: Intercession, Worship & Evangelism.
